Washboard “SHINES” at CCMA’s

What a week….

We were honoured to take home a CCMA this year for Roots Artist of the Year.  This marks the bands 3rd CCMA win and our second consecutive CCMA Roots Artist of the Year Award .

This was such an incredible week for us and so great to play for our fans in Saskatoon.  Thanks to everyone in Saskatoon that made Country shine for the CCMA’s this year and all of the volunteers who made the CCMA’s such a success in your fine city.

The Washboard Union also played their first CCMA’s live this year and performed their hit single “SHINE” live on CBC.  This was a spectacular performance the band had been looking forward to and marked their first national live TV appearance.

“Beyond the awards Country Music week was also a chance to catch up with some of our friends in Country music and meet a whole host of new ones.  We were so excited to hook up pals like Dean Brody and Dallas Smith this week who were both CCMA 2017 winners.

As well this week we had a chance to meet and spend some time with 2 of our new label mates at Warner Music Canada.  CCMA Hall of Fame Inductee Paul Brandt.  Paul is one of our country’s brightest talents and a great cat to hang out with. No one is more deserving of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

We also had a chance to hook up with Country music superstar Blake Shelton who we proudly passed a Washboard Union “Shot of Glory flask to.

One of the best moments of the week was seeing our friends Brett Kissel and Meghan Patrick take home CCMA awards and we were thrilled to be there for their well deserved wins.
