Washboard Strikes “Gold”

THE WASHBOARD UNION STRIKE GOLD WITH “SHOT OF GLORY”
New single, “SHINE,” is now band’s third Top 10 hit

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

Vancouver, B.C.’s very own The Washboard Union have struck gold with the song “Shot Of Glory.” Taken from their major label debut, In Our Bones, the song was a Top 5 hit at Canadian country radio earlier this Spring and has since become a concert favourite as the band wowed audiences at festivals throughout the summer.  Shot of Glory has officially been certified gold in Canada.  This is the first gold record for The Washboard Union.

”We are truly humbled today to hear this news and we share this milestone with every single one of our fans.  Thank you to our families and friends for their support and our team at Warner Music Canada, Jim Campbell and Derek Ross at Slaight Music, Paul Biro, Ron Sakamoto, and the Sakamoto Agency as well as our producers Jeff Dalziel and Trey Bruce for all of your hard work getting us here.  This is a day we will never forget.”  – The Washboard Union (David, Chris, Aaron)

This announcement is just the latest celebration for the band in the past two weeks. At the recent Canadian Country Music Awards they won their second consecutive Roots Group of the Year award and performed their hit single, “Shine,” on the nationally televised broadcast.  And then, this past weekend they won Country Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards.  As of today, “Shine,” the first single from their forthcoming album entered the Top 10 at Canadian country radio making it the band’s third Top 10 hit in under 2 years.

Washboard “SHINES” at CCMA’s

What a week….

We were honoured to take home a CCMA this year for Roots Artist of the Year.  This marks the bands 3rd CCMA win and our second consecutive CCMA Roots Artist of the Year Award .

This was such an incredible week for us and so great to play for our fans in Saskatoon.  Thanks to everyone in Saskatoon that made Country shine for the CCMA’s this year and all of the volunteers who made the CCMA’s such a success in your fine city.

The Washboard Union also played their first CCMA’s live this year and performed their hit single “SHINE” live on CBC.  This was a spectacular performance the band had been looking forward to and marked their first national live TV appearance.

“Beyond the awards Country Music week was also a chance to catch up with some of our friends in Country music and meet a whole host of new ones.  We were so excited to hook up pals like Dean Brody and Dallas Smith this week who were both CCMA 2017 winners.

As well this week we had a chance to meet and spend some time with 2 of our new label mates at Warner Music Canada.  CCMA Hall of Fame Inductee Paul Brandt.  Paul is one of our country’s brightest talents and a great cat to hang out with. No one is more deserving of being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

We also had a chance to hook up with Country music superstar Blake Shelton who we proudly passed a Washboard Union “Shot of Glory flask to.

One of the best moments of the week was seeing our friends Brett Kissel and Meghan Patrick take home CCMA awards and we were thrilled to be there for their well deserved wins.

GET READY TO SHINE!!!

Well its official,  Our brand new single ‘SHINE‘ has officially arrived today at country radio, Spotify, Itunes and anywhere else you find music.  SHINE is the very first single from a brand new Washboard Union record and is a song we are so excited to release on Warner Music Canada.  We wrote this song a small studio in Nashville Tennessee with our good friend Phil Barton who we actually wrote Head Over Heels with for our IN MY BONES EP.

SHINE is a song about “possibility”.  That feeling you have deep down inside that you have something important to show the whole world. That knowledge that what you are doing matters, and more importantly that you matter.  That conviction that won’t let you hear anyone who tells you that you are not good enough and the courage to get backup when you get knocked down.

When you look around, we are all capable of some pretty amazing things.  We see it every day on the road every time we meet new fans and new friends who dream big.

SHINE is a song for anyone who dared to dream and make it happen.

listen to SHINE NOW on SPOTIFY

We are on tour right now all summer playing at festivals all across Canada and we cannot wait to see you all and play SHINE for you live.

Here is where you will find us over the next few months.

We hope you enjoy this sing as much as we loved writing it

With Love…..

David , Aaron, and Chris
